Women being an integral part of the society have an equal bidding in all the activities that are taken up culturally, socially, economically and politically. But women are found to be the most marginalized and the most vulnerable category when studied on the context of poverty, availing opportunities, literacy rate and health.
Gender is taken as a cross-cutting among all other themes by IGSSS. The focus is to consciously plan and implement activities, and programmes by taking into consideration the concerns and requirements of women, and also to enhance their participation.
Empowering Women
IGSSS is directly implementing the project titled 'Empowering Women: Access and ownership over land and land based activities through education, legal literacy and advocacy in rural India' which is being funded by EU-WHH at Jhabua, Madhya Pradesh. The overall objective of the project is to contribute to empowerment of vulnerable women in rural India and to complement to the achievement.
