Dr. Joseph Sebastian – Executive Director

Joseph Sebastian is a PhD in Social Work with 18 years of experience as a development professional and academician. His expertise lies primarily in Organisation Management and Monitoring and Evaluation. He also has vast experience in Change Management, Program Management including Financial and Human Resource Management, Program Planning and Designing, Strategic Planning and Budgeting, Capacity Building, Fundraising and Donor relations and Communication.

Joseph joined Indo-Global Social Service Society in August 2008 and since then he has successfully led the restructuring (programmatic and operational) of the organization and put up strong processes and networks of donors to provide financial and operational stability to the organization. He also renders voluntary service during his leisure time to build capacity of teachers, works with youth on personality development and provides counseling to families.

In the past Joseph has been associated with Project Concern International – India where he has worked as Director Monitoring and Evaluation and later as Director Operations. He has also worked with Kerala State AIDS Control Society, Marian College Kuttikkanam, Yashwantrao Chavan Institute of Social Sciences etc.

Mr. K C Sahu – Head, Livelihood Programme

Mr. K.C.Sahu holds a PGDRD (Post Graduate Diploma in Rural Development) from XISS (Xavier Institute of Social Sciences) Ranchi. He has 17 years of experience in Developmental Planning, Implementation, Monitoring, Evaluation, Networking & Advocacy, Training and Research.

He has worked with CASA (Church's Auxiliary for Social Action) for 9 years in various capacities. He has also worked in IGSSS as Regional Manager, Eastern region covering States like Orissa, Bihar, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, Sikkim and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Mr. Sahu is presently heading the Livelihood Unit and is responsible for the PEARL (People’s Empowerment for Accessing Rights to Livelihood) programme.

Mr. Mangneo Lhungdim – Head, Disaster Risk Reduction & North East Operations

Mr.Mangneo Lhungdim has 14 years of professional experience. He has worked with Government of India, IFAD (International Fund for Agricultural Development), CRS (Catholic Relief Services) extensively in the Northeast region.

Mr. Mangneo Lhungdim is presently Heading the DRR (Disaster Risk Reduction) Unit of IGSSS and is also responsible for IGSSS operations in NE India. Mr. Lhungdim has added strength within IGSSS in areas of proposal development, strategic interventions and DRR/emergency operations.

He is also a trained peace advocate and has been supporting the Joint Peace Mission team (JPMT) in NE. He also serves as Secretary Cum Convenor to the Inter-Agency Group (IAG) of Assam.

Ms.Shikha Srivastava – Head, Programme Quality and Support

Ms Shikha Srivastava is a post graduate in Social Work and has over 14 years of experience in the Development Sector. She is presently Heading the Programme Quality Support (PQS) unit in IGSSS that looks at ensuring quality as per the set standards right from the project conceptualization to project closure.

Ms.Shikha is also responsible for the Knowledge Management within IGSSS. She is a good facilitator with expertise in proposal development, resource planning and deployment, project appraisal, implementation and putting in result based management system.

She is passionate about working on issues related to girls and women and initiated a campaign on women and land rights within IGSSS.

Mr. Indu Prakash Singh – Head, Urban Poverty - CityMakers Programme
(Eliminating Homelessness - Urban Poverty - Ensuring rights)

Indu Prakash Singh a Master in Philosophy and Sociology and MPhil in Sociology is a feminist at heart who became a part of Women’s Movement during 1980s. He has joined Indo-Global Social Service Society in 2009 and leading the CityMakers Programme for advocating the rights of Urban Homeless.

Indu has worked with organisations like Christian Aid as National Director-PACS (a DFID India programme) and PRAXIS. He has been instrumental in ensuring shelter rights of the homeless in Delhi through his work with Aashray Adhikar Abhiyan an Action Aid Project. He has also worked with South Asian Coalition on Child Servitude (SACCS)/ Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA); Voluntary Health Association of Delhi (VHAD); Research Foundation for Science, Technology and Ecology (RFSTE) / and others. He worked as a consultant with CAF, DFID, DANLEP/ DANIDA, SCF, ActionAid, Oxfam America etc.

Indu was awarded with CNN IBN “Citizen Journalist Award” in 2010 in the “Save Your City” Category for his commitment towards the advocating the rights of urban homeless.

He is a prolific writer who has penned many poems and authored several books related to women Issues such as ‘Women’s Oppression, Men Responsible’, ‘Women, Law and Social Change in India’, ‘Indian Women: The Captured Beings’ etc.

Ms. Kalpana Verma – Head of Operations

Ms.Kalpana, a Chartered Accountant, has a rich experience of 35 years in Finance, Business Operations and Human Resource. She has worked with organizations like IBM, AIMIL, ABB, SIEL and AWHO amongst others. Having worked in diverse business environments backed by strong technical skills aided with use of contemporary technology at the same time with sensitivity natural for the social sector makes her unusual professional. Her core strength has been designing and implementing systems and procedures achieving financial discipline and enhancing overall efficiency.

Alongside she leads and builds effective cohesive teams. She has also put to use networking skills having liaised with varied stakeholders like government bodies, businesses, community and NGOs. Kalpana, along with a group of like-minded individuals founded the NGO CanSupport in 1996 to provide palliative care for terminally ill cancer patients. She did her graduation in Physics (Honours) from Delhi University. Kalpana thrives on challenges and with her positive disposition believes that one and one has the power of eleven. Her two mantras are to be "effective" with "enthusiasm".
