MISEREOR is the German Catholic Bishops' Organisation for Development Cooperation. For over 50 years MISEREOR has been committed to fighting poverty in Africa, Asia and Latin America. MISEREOR believes in supporting initiatives driven and owned by the
poor and the disadvantaged. On the ground, projects are run by local organisations. Together with the beneficiaries, the partners involved help shape local development processes and implement the projects. They receive support from MISEREOR in the form ofadvice, expertise and funds.

Pre-funding

Project: Micro Financing Entrepreneurship Initiative of Rural Dalit Women in Bihar.

Study: Assessed the competency of the project applicant and financial management. Understand the need of the intervention and the participation of target group in project formulation. The Project was recommended for funding.

South 24 Parganas West Bengal

Pre-funding

Project: “Community Based Action for Health” for 67 villages under 11 Gram Panchayat of Patharpratima Block, South 24 Pargana District, West Bengal.

Study: Reviewed the Capacity and Competence of the organization to implement the project, participation of target group and feasibility of the project and Financial management of the organisation. The project was recommended for funding for one year.

Investigation study

Project: Organization for Agriculture and Rural Marketing Initiating (KARMI) Mahaling, Kalahandi

Investigation: The alleged corruption by Member Secretary & Treasurer of the organisation. The allegations of corruption against the members were was found to be true.

Social Welfare Institute

Uttar Dinajpur, West Bengal

Pre-funding

Project: Improve the livelihood of excluded tribal communities who have no access to basic Government services in the 44 villages in Raiganj, Karandighi and Goalpukur-II of Uttar Dinajpur District, West Bengal.

Study: Reviewed the competence and experience of the project holder and the staff in project and financial management. Also to assess the relevance, and possible impact through the planned measures, of the project and the level of participation of the target group in the project. The project was recommended with slight modification in the budget and a more streamlined proposal.

Project: continuation of the previous project with focus on Community Development Programme through women empowerment in Bhagwanpur Block, Purba Medinipur, W.B.

Study: Assessed the Capacity of the organization to implement the project, competence and experience of the project holder and staff, financial management System, Participation of the target group and review of the previous project. Project was recommended for support.

Dt. Shimdega, Jharkhand

Pre-funding

Project: Sustainable Food Security and Strengthening Livelihood opportunities among Tribal Community in 100 villages of Kurdeg, Kersai and Bolba Block district Simdega Jharkhand.

Study: Assessed the capacity of the organization to implement the project, competence and experience of the project holder and staff, participation of target group and financial management capacity.

Vikas Kendra Shimdega Shimdega Dist. Jharkhand

Pre-Funding

Project: Poverty reduction through sustainable livelihood opportunities for the socially and economically marginalized families

Study: Assessed the capacity of the organization to implement the project, competence and experience of the project holder and staff, participation of target group, Financial management capacity.

Utkal Vikash Kendra Mayurbhanj, Orissa

Pre-Funding

Project: Improve the Self Help Ability in the area of leadership, political participation, income generating skills, bank linkages, marketing and capital mobilization and inter – loaning within the group.

Study: Assessed the capacity and competence of the organization to implement the project, participation of target group and feasibility of the project, financial management and review of the previous project. The organization was not found transparent in their attitude in handling the previous project. The project was not recommended for further continuation.

Pre-Funding

Project: Generate health awareness and promotion of livelihood options through formation of self-help groups in the target villages of Kathua district

Study: Assessed the capacity and competence of the organization to implement the project, Participation of target group and feasibility of the project and financial management. The project was recommended for the support.

Sisters of St. Elizabeth Indore MP

Pre-Funding

Project: Home Based Care & Support of People Living with HIV. The project was continuation of the previous intervention.

Study: Assessed the competence and experience of the project holder and staff, participation of target group, financial management capacity and Justification of the project (Impact and Quality of Measures to be implemented). The project was recommended for the continuation with reworking of the budget and submission of the more streamlined proposal incorporating the suggestions given by the team.

Project: Integrated development of quarry worker’s

Study: Assessed the legal and administrative compliances of the organisation. Examined the role, reputation, credibility and relation of the oganisation with the stakeholders in the project implementation.

Evaluation

Project: Traditional health system at Ganjam District, Bhubaneswar

Study: Assessed the charges of accusation of miss-utilization of funds and fraud. The charges were found correct and reported accordingly.

Pre-Funding

Project: Empower the community to PRI and better accessing the schemes for the overall development.

Study: Evaluated the relevance of the project and to assess the capacity of the organisation to manage the proposed project. The project was recommended for the support with modification in the budget and APDWS will present a more streamlined proposal incorporating the suggestions given by the study team.
