Background
Promoting Sustainable Livelihood Livelihood options of the poor and vulnerable have become limited today. Even though agriculture provides livelihood to more than 70 per cent of India’s population and is the backbone of India’s self sufficiency in food grains, it is becoming unsustainable. Marginal and subsistence farmers are becoming more vulnerable.
- Livelihood diversification by strengthening livelihood assets
- Ensuring the principle of equitable entitlement to the poor, as constitutionally available to them

The particular strategy of combining land rights and land development, ensuring food security through service delivery and improved production, and
ensuring provision for livelihood finance brings in sustainable results for the communities that IGSSS works with. IGSSS’ approach also ensures more people’s participation, involvement, contribution and improves chances of long term sustainability.
